Hi! I'm Julie

I'm a content designer who uses language as a design tool — helping people navigate, understand, and interact with complex systems more easily.

I was born and raised in Belgium, and moved to the United States right after college with a degree, a suitcase, and enough ambition to figure out the rest. English became my working language, then my thinking language, then the medium I design in every day. Somewhere along the way I also raised two kids, and taught myself conversation design and speech recognition from scratch — which is a longer way of saying I'm comfortable building things I've never built before.

My path into content design wasn't linear, but it was always about language and structure. How words create clarity. How structure creates confidence. How the right information, in the right place, at the right moment, can change what someone does next.

At Disney, that work has taken on a scale I didn't expect when I started. I've led the content strategy for the Discovery Agent — an agentic AI tool that helps guests navigate one of the most complex purchase decisions in travel: planning a Walt Disney World vacation through conversation rather than browsing. I've rearchitected the taxonomy for the WDW App and Web, conducted a full audit of the Walt Disney World website across 2,700+ URLs, designed a Digital Wallet approach for easier park access, and orchestrated the strategy to unify three separate design systems — Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disney Cruise Line — into one. That last project required bringing together VPs, directors, and managers across design, engineering, and product to align on something foundational, invisible, and genuinely hard to prioritize. I'm proud it moved.

I collaborate closely with VP- and director-level design leadership, product managers, UX designers, engineers, and legal teams. My work is grounded in both user needs and business goals — and I try never to forget that behind every flow, every label, every error message, there's a person trying to do something that matters to them.

Outside of work, you'll find me exploring new coffee shops, sketching at the park, or somewhere underwater with a camera.

Let's connect.

“Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with a lot of content designers more junior than me, and you stand out for so many reasons. You're quick to learn, persistent in understanding and solving hard guest problems, and you've become a skilled researcher in your own right. I am so lucky to work with you, and I'm grateful for our weekly meetings."
